About the Role: People & Culture Lead 

This isn’t your typical "fill out the forms" HR role. You will partner directly with the founders to build the human engine of Maxim. As we scale, you’ll be the architect of our culture - the one who ensures we stay a high-performance team without losing our soul.

You’ll sit at the center of everything from organizational design to AI-driven recruitment workflows. 

What You’ll Do

  • Talent Acquisition: Own the hiring engine. We’re looking for "A-players" who raise the average. You’ll manage the talent pipeline and ensure every candidate (hired or not) has a world-class experience.
  • Build the 0-to-1 Culture Playbook: You aren't inheriting a handbook; you’re writing it. You’ll design the rituals, feedback loops, and values that define how we work, ensuring they scale as fast as our codebase.
  • Operational Rigor: Design the "People Backbone" from onboarding, performance cycles to HRIS systems that allow us to move fast without creating people debt.
  • Cross-Border Savvy: Navigate the nuances of building a team across India and the US, managing everything from cultural alignment to localized benefits and compliance.
  • The Tech-First HR: We’re an AI company. You’ll be expected to use AI tools to automate the mundane (SOPs, initial screenings, trackers) so you can spend your time on high-impact human strategy.
  • Founder Partner & Coach: Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team. You’ll provide the "vibe check" on team health and step in with professional poise when things get overwhelming.

About You

  • 5+ Years of Experience: You’ve been in the trenches. You have deep experience in TA functions and a proven track record in high-stakes hiring.
  • The Startup Specialist: You’ve lived the growth journey. You know that "early stage" means wearing many hats and building your own rack to hang them on.
  • Agency & Ownership: You don’t wait for a nudge. You see a gap in the culture or a bottleneck in the hiring process and you fix it.
  • Curious & Suave: You have a natural "tech suaveness." You’re probably already experimenting with LLMs to see how they can streamline your workflow.
  • The Calm in the Chaos: Startups are a rollercoaster. You’re the person who stays level-headed and empathetic when priorities shift at 180 mph.
  • Communication Pro: You’re sharp, articulate, and most importantly easy to talk to. You can navigate a tough performance conversation and a celebratory team dinner with equal grace.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in B2B SaaS or deep-tech environments.
  • Experience managing global teams (India + US focus).
  • A healthy obsession with finding the "next big thing" in workplace productivity tools.
